Mulesoft is migrating to Java17!
Why?
Third party vendors will no longer support Java 8 which affects mulesoft products. Plus Java 17 provides greater security and performance.
Impacts
The migration will not have an immediate impact on current runtime versions. It will be a gradual progression until June 8, 2025, that’s the hard stop for supporting Java 8.
All connectors will be upgraded to Java 17. Anypoint Studio will also be upgraded to support java17. MuleSoft added an feature in Anypoint Studio 7.17 where you can switch between Java 8 and Java 17 to make the upgrade easier and be able to support both versions.

Anypoint Studio Timelines
7.17 and higher supports 4.6 runtime and allows you to switch between Java8 and Java17.
